This particular necklace features a tiny Irish mountain heather specimen, which I gathered on a trip to Bonane, Co Kerry last summer. Irish heather blooms profusely in late summer, covering the mountainsides in a huge lilac blanket. I have dried and sealed the heather with a UV resistant spray before carefully sealing it in a dainty vintage watchmakers vial to make a really special keepsake.
This piece is available on a choice of bronze, sterling silver or 14k gold chain.
These gorgeous little vials all have their own coded labels, to help the watchmaker who owned them easily store watch parts. As these pieces are made with natural materials and vintage parts, each one is unique and may vary very slightly from the one pictured.
As this piece was made real flowers and plants, take care to keep it dry and to store it safely away from direct sunlight when you're not wearing it.
The pieces at Ruby Robin are designed to allow the quiet beauty of nature to shine, to stir the imagination, inspire wonder and encapsulate a microcosm of long forgotten memories. I make my jewellery using a range of strange and beautiful curiosities, found in the woods and on the mountain sides, on the windswept beaches and wild meadows.
