Tassled andelion seed necklace #E10

Part of my Make a wish collection, a dainty glass orb pendant necklace stuffed with enough real dandelion wishes to last a life time! I gathered these seeds from the hedgerows last Spring, to create these whimsical keepsake necklaces. This beautiful piece was finished with a gorgeous antique style tassel for an elegant, bohemian touch.

Please note each tassel is slightly different in design from the one pictured.

Folklore also says that blowing the feathery little seeds off a dandelion will carry your thoughts and dreams to your loved one or will grant you a wish! This piece would be such a lovely thought for anyone starting out on a new adventure in life who could do with some wishes and luck and to tide them through the next stage in their lives.

Traditionally dandelions bring good luck and fine weather on your wedding day, so this would make a wonderful luck charm for any summer bride, especially if she is getting married in Ireland.

The glass orb, measures 25mm and is hung on a heavy 28 inch long bronze chain. If you'd prefer a different length chain just leave a note in the 'message to seller' box at checkout.

Although every care has been taken in the creation of your new necklace, please take care not to wear it when showering or swimming.

Ruby Robin Boutique is the romantic, whimsical trinket emporium dreamed up, lovingly handmade and photographed by me, Kay Marriott.

I specialize in unique and romantic handmade jewellery, in particular glass picture necklaces and photo lockets and other jewellery made using Victorian illustrations, as well as miniature terrarium jewellery, cute miniature food jewellery (such as my infamous teacup rings) and fun, colorful resin beaded jewellery!

My work is inspired by many things, my cats, my garden, novels by the Bronte sisters and the wildlife and nature I coexisted with as a child growing up in the wild, windy and often magical countryside in the South of Ireland.

All my pieces are handmade by me in my bedroom studio in the outskirts of Cork City, where I live in the basement of a crumbling, dusty old Georgian house, usually with a cat or two for company, a coffee in one hand, an audio book playing in the background and the odd train rumbling past outside my window.
