This little Irish wildflower ring is your own piece of summer sun, enclosed in resin to keep it safe, this golden yellow buttercup has been pressed and preserved to blossom through all four seasons of the year. The most humble and cheerful of all little meadow flowers, the buttercup has a special place in the heart of just about every grown up child. This piece would make a wonderful gift from Ireland for any nature lover.
Dear robin," said this sad young flower,
"Perhaps you'd not mind trying
To find a nice white frill for me,
Some day when you are flying?"
"You silly thing!" the robin said;
"I think you must be crazy!
I'd rather be my honest self
Than any made-up daisy.
"You're nicer in your own bright gown,
The little children love you;
Be the best buttercup you can,
And think no flower above you.
"Though swallows leave me out of sight,
We'd better keep our places;
Perhaps the world would all go wrong
With one too many daisies.
"Look bravely up into the sky,
And be content with knowing
That God wished for a buttercup
Just here, where you are growing."
Sarah Orne Jewett, "Discontent"
Ring is made one a nickel-free bronze base which is fully adjustable. The flower inside has been preserved using a variety of techniques and encased in resin, so it will not wither or die.
Please be aware that there may be some small bubbles in your piece. Someone recently described them as resembling little dew drops sitting on the flowers & leaves and I like to think they add their own little touch of life to each piece <3
As this piece was made real flowers and plants, take care to keep it dry and to store it safely away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when you're not wearing it. If you'd like to polish the resin you can use a micro fibre cloth with a polish such as T-cut or Novus or even just a few drops of olive oil. Buff the resin with gentle, circular movements.
Your ring will come packaged in one of my signature gift boxes, perfect for gift giving and safe keeping.
