Each flower is a hand's span
of her whiteness. Wherever
his hand has lain there is
a tiny purple blossom under his touch
to which the fibres of her being
stem one by one, each to its end,
until the whole field is a
white desire, empty, a single stem,
a cluster, flower by flower,
a pious wish to whiteness gone over--
- W. C. Williams
Here is a sweet little keepsake locket, inside which I have encapsulated some pressed Queen Annes Lace flowers a keepsake from the summer meadows to carry with you wherever you go!
The lockets are made from glass and bronze, and the locket measures a dainty 3/4 inch across. I have glued the door shut to safely preserve the flowers enclosed inside. The chain is made from nickel-free bronze, and can be made in lengths ranging from 18 to 22 inches, so you can choose exactly how you wear it.
While every care has been taken to ensure the longevity of this piece, do try to keep it away from water.
The pieces at Ruby Robin are designed to allow the quiet beauty of nature to shine, to stir the imagination, inspire wonder and encapsulate a microcosm of long forgotten memories. I make my jewellery using a range of strange and beautiful curiosities, found in the woods and on the mountain sides, on the windswept beaches and wild meadows.
'The mountains are calling and I must go.'
- John Muir
