Irish lichen bottle pendant #D13

Botanical specimen necklace, made from a teardrop miniature glass bottle, filled with real lichen that I gathered from one of the last remaining and oldest oak woodlands in Europe, Killarney National Park in the South of Ireland Ireland.

Killarney woods is famous for it's rare species of flora and fauna, including lots of mosses and lichens which thrive in the clean unpolluted air. This particular species of lichen goes by many names here, including 'Little Clouds', 'Sea Ivory' and the Irish name 'Crotal Coille'. Killarney Woods is over 10,000 years old, so with this necklace you will be wearing not only your own little piece of Ireland, but also a keepsake of it's most ancient history to wear with you wherever you go.

The cap is made from gold plated brass and the chain is14k gold.

While every care has been taken to ensure the longevity of this piece, do try to keep it away from water and store it away from direct sunlight.

The plants used to make my jewellery have all been preserved and treated, so wil not wither or fade over time.
